Mostafa Heravi was born in Mashhad in Iran in 1974 and traveled around his country and India to become a photographer. From an early age on Mostafa got interested in drawing and painting and decided he wanted to expand his artistic horizon. Heravi traveled to the Netherlands in 2000 and started studying at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and graduated in 2007 in VAV moving image direction.
Besides drawing, painting and photography, Heravi became a specialist in photo collage, music videos and film making. As a filmmaker he created several (short) films, movies and documentaries. His latest 90-minute film ‘Sansur’ was nominated at the Gouden Kalf selection ’23 and won several awards globally.
Mostafa likes to stay up to date with new technologies and became a pro with AI image generation. Heravi uses AI as an extension to create art and continues to develop himself as an artist.
